Note that reapplication of rear glass adhesive affects water resistance; proper installation is crucial for retaining protection.
Power off your phone and unplug any cables before proceeding.
Apply a suction handle to the center of the bottom edge of the rear glass, as close to the edge as possible.
If your display is badly cracked, cover it with clear packing tape for better suction or use very strong tape instead.
As a last resort, apply superglue directly to the suction cup and attach it to the broken screen.
Place the opening pick at the bottom right corner and gently slide it under the adhesive.
Do not remove the opening pick until the repair is complete, as this will allow the adhesive to reseal.
Insert another opening pick at the bottom edge of the rear glass, into the existing gap.
Reheat the iOpener and apply it for 2 minutes if slicing is difficult.
Reheating may cause iOpener to expand — be cautious when handling.
Insert a fourth opening pick into the top left corner of the rear glass.
Remove the rear glass.
Check the right edge of the motherboard cover for a white sticker covering a screw.
Be careful not to damage the motherboard cover or its clips.
Remove the motherboard cover.
Avoid damaging the motherboard — do not press down in the middle.
Check for a white sticker covering a screw on the top right corner of the loudspeaker.
Locate the plastic clips holding the loudspeaker in place.
Remove the loudspeaker.
Insert SIM eject tool, bit, or straightened paper clip into the SIM card tray hole.
Remove the SIM card tray from the phone.
A damaged or missing gasket can compromise water and dust protection – replace if necessary to prevent damage to internal components.
Use a spudger to pry the antenna board cable connector straight up from its socket on the daughterboard.
Disconnect the fingerprint reader cable from the daughterboard using a spudger.
Disconnect the interconnect cable from the daughterboard using a spudger.
Do not touch or damage the delicate antenna cable during removal.
Use tweezers or your fingers to carefully remove the black antenna cable from its clip on the daughterboard.
Disconnect the white antenna cable by prying its connector straight up from the motherboard with a spudger.
Remove the screw holding the daughterboard using a Phillips driver.
Remove the daughterboard using a pair of tweezers or your fingers.
