Careful: overheating can cause screen and battery damage.

  • Apply heat to the back edge of the phone using an iOpener or HotPack, starting with a long edge for easier removal.
  • If needed, use a hair dryer or heat gun for additional adhesive loosening, but be cautious not to overheat the phone.

Insert the opening pick into the heated middle section of the phone.

  • Slide it along the edge to separate the adhesive.

  • Use a plastic wedge tool, such as the iFixit tool, for safer results.

If separation is incomplete, reheat the edge and try again.
