This guide is for replacing a damaged rear glass on a OnePlus 7T. Replacement adhesive will be required to secure components during reassembly.
Power off your phone before starting.
Prevent heat damage by avoiding excessive temperatures near the AMOLED display and internal battery.
Apply a suction handle to the right edge of the rear glass.
Slide the opening pick along the edge to the bottom right corner.
Do not leave the phone unattended with an opening pick inserted, as the adhesive may reseal.
Insert a second opening pick into the gap.
If slicing is difficult, use the iOpener again to soften the adhesive.
When cutting near the camera, insert only the tip (~4-5 mm) of the opening pick.
Insert a fourth opening pick into the top left corner.
Insert a fifth opening pick under the bottom left corner.
Remove the rear glass.
Apply strong, steady pressure to your phone for several minutes after installing the back cover. A stack of heavy books can help facilitate adhesion.
