OnePlus 6 Midframe Replacement

Before proceeding, check the troubleshooting page for any software-related issues affecting your camera or side buttons.

  • Close all apps running in the background that may interfere with camera access.
  • Turn off the device and unplug all external power sources.

Now, proceed to remove the glass back panel being cautious not to shatter it. Be sure to inspect for any blockages or debris before proceeding further.

Step 1 | Back Panel

Avoid overheating or melting the plastic — heat guns can become unpredictable.

  • Turn on the heat gun at a low temperature setting and carefully heat the curved edges on the phone's back.
  • Gently insert opening picks between the front and back panel, then slide them around the perimeter to loosen the adhesive.
  • Repeat this process until the back cover is completely released.

Carefully lift the back panel, taking care not to strain the fingerprint sensor ribbon cable.

Use a pair of tweezers to gently pull up on the red tab.

  • Disconnect the cable from the device.
  • Remove the back panel.

Step 4 | Battery

Hold the battery's green tab and gently lift the battery straight up.

Step 5 | Fingerprint sensor

Be aware that the 10th screw is underneath a sticker, do not mistake for the adjacent screw.

  • Remove the ten 3 mm screws using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.
  • Lift the bottom of the midframe directly up and remove it from the device.
