OnePlus 6 Lower Frame Replacement

Charging issues, poor audio quality from headphone jack, or distorted audio from speaker may require repair; ensure components are free of debris before proceeding.

  • Review troubleshooting page to determine if issues can be resolved without part replacement.
  • Powers down OnePlus 6 and disconnects all power sources.
  • Carefully removes the phone's glass back panel; be aware of potential shattering risk.

Step 1 | Back Panel

Never apply excessive heat, which can melt the plastic.

  • Turn on the heat gun and set it to a low temperature.
  • Carefully heat the curved edges of the phone's back cover.
  • Insert opening picks between front and back panel, then slide them around the perimeter to break the adhesive.
  • Repeat until the back panel is fully released.

Be careful not to damage the fingerprint sensor ribbon cable when lifting the back panel.

  • Grasp the red tab with a pair of tweezers and gently pull upwards to release the cable.
  • Remove the back panel completely from the device.

Step 4 | Lower Frame

Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the eight 3 mm screws from the lower frame.

  • Lift the lower panel gently upwards and out of the device.
