OnePlus 6 Front Facing Camera Replacement
Ensure all power sources are disconnected and safety precautions taken before proceeding.
- Remove the screws securing the component nearest the camera.
- Gently lift and disconnect the relevant cables from this component.
- Repeat steps one and two for subsequent components leading up to the front facing camera, following the cable connections carefully.
Step 1 | Front Facing Camera
Apply heat to the back edges with a heat gun.
- Pry up the back cover using a plastic opening tool
- Begin at one of the left corners and work around the phone.
- Lift the back cover off carefully, avoiding damage to the camera cable.
Step 2
Disconnect the red pull-away tab from the motherboard using tweezers.
- Lift the battery out of the chassis by gripping the green tab.
Step 3
Remove the motherboard harness screws with a Phillips #000 screwdriver.
- Pull up the motherboard harness using a pair of tweezers.
Step 4
Lift the front-facing camera's pin connection with the pointed tip of a spudger, prying vertically until release.
- Lift the front-facing camera up and out using tweezers.
