OnePlus 6 Battery Replacement

A depleted or faulty battery can cause charging issues and failure to power on.

Be cautious of a swollen battery, which poses a fire and explosion hazard.

  • Remove the phone's back panel, made of glass, using care to avoid damage.
  • Ensure all power sources are disconnected and the phone is shut down before proceeding.

Step 1 | Back Panel

Heat gun can overheat or melt the plastic; be cautious.

  • Turn on the heat gun at low heat and gently warm the curved edges on the phone's back.
  • Insert the opening picks between the front and back panels, sliding them around the perimeter to release the adhesive.
  • Repeat until the back panel is fully released.

Remove the back panel carefully.

  • Lift it upwards slowly.
  • Avoid damaging the fingerprint sensor ribbon cable.

  • Disconnect the cable by grasping the red tab with tweezers and pulling upward.
  • Remove the back panel in its entirety from the device.

Step 4 | Battery

Remove the battery by gripping its green tab and pulling it straight up.
