Improperly following these steps may result in damaging the display panel.

  • Read through the following steps before proceeding to ensure a safe opening process.

Do not pry at the display panel seam, as this will damage the display assembly.

  • Pry at the frame seam where the plastic frame meets the back cover.
  • Aware of the twelve clips holding the frame against the rear case and take care when prying off the back cover.

Accidental power-on may cause damage; turn off phone before resuming disassembly if necessary.

  • Position the suction cup near the bottom display edge.
  • Pull on the suction cup with steady, strong force.

Using substantial force may be required due to tight tolerances; consider a new opening tool for easier insertion.

Press the edge of an opening tool into the frame seam near the suction cup until it wedges between the plastic frame and the back cover's lip.

Wiggle the frame gently to release the top and right edge clips.

  • The frame is still connected by a long flex cable — do not remove the back cover yet.
  • Pause before securing the back cover to test your phone's functionality during reassembly.

Do not proceed with installing the back cover until you've tested the phone's function.

  • Align the top edge of the frame and ensure the top clips fit into place.
  • Squeeze along the long edges to snap the remaining clips into place.

Be cautious when handling the phone frame — risk of damage if dropped.

  • Brace the phone frame against a flat surface.
  • Pull the green pull tab upwards firmly until the battery separates from its recess.
  • If necessary, apply high-concentration (over 90%) isopropyl alcohol to the battery seam to loosen the adhesive.
  • Remove the battery completely and pull it off the plastic liner.

Remove the battery.

Do not reuse a bent or stressed battery as it poses a potential safety hazard.

  • If your replacement battery lacks a green pull tab, transfer the old tab to simplify future replacements.
  • During installation, temporarily connect the new battery to ensure correct alignment.
  • When installing onto a new screen and digitizer assembly, remove the dark blue adhesive liners to expose the new battery's adhesive.
