This repair involves replacing a faulty earpiece speaker on a OnePlus 3, which requires access via the motherboard.
Do not attempt to access the earpiece without first removing the motherboard.
The most challenging aspect of this repair is releasing the frame clips. Note that guide images may depict the battery as already removed, but it is not necessary to remove the battery for this procedure.
Insert a SIM eject tool, bit, or straightened paperclip into the hole between the SIM card slot and power button.
Reinstall with proper orientation: the SIM card tray fits in only one direction.
Remove the 2.6 mm T2 screws located at the bottom edge of the phone.
Improperly prying the display panel can cause damage.
Avoid the Display Panel Seam, as it's part of the display assembly.
Be aware of the fourteen clips holding the frame against the rear case.
Avoid powering on the phone during disassembly.
Do not use metal tools, as they may crack the screen.
Slide the opening tool along the bottom edge of the phone.
Continue sliding the opening tool along the long edge, releasing clips as you go.
The last clip near the alert switch is recessed; take your time and use the flat end of a spudger or opening pick to release it.
Wiggle the frame gently to release the top and right edge clips.
Ensure proper alignment of all clips before proceeding with back cover installation.
Never apply pressure to the middle of the connector.
If reconnecting, carefully align the pins and press down on one side until it clicks into place; repeat for the other side.
Remove the 3mm Phillips screw holding the cable bracket in place.
Locate the interconnect flex cable on top of the battery and use a spudger point to carefully pry it loose from the motherboard.
Insert the spudger under the antenna interconnect cable at the motherboard's bottom left corner.
Careful not to damage the cable or nearby components.
Insert the pointed end of a spudger between the display connector and its socket.
Remove the seven Phillips screws: four 3 mm black, three 2.9 mm silver.
Ensure SIM tray has been ejected.
Remove the motherboard.
Insert the tweezer tip under an earpiece speaker clip.

Remove the earpiece speaker.
When transferring to a replacement frame, remove adhesive liner to expose adhesive.
