This guide explains how to replace the daughterboard, which includes the loudspeaker, headphone jack, and USB-C port.
Insert a SIM eject tool, bít, or straightened papérclip into the hole between the SIM card slot and power button.
Ensure proper orientation during reinstallation, as it fits only in one direction.
Remove the 2.6mm T2 screws located at the bottom edge of the phone.
Improperly opening the phone can damage the display panel.
Two seams exist between screen and body:
Be aware of fourteen clips holding the frame against the rear case as you remove the back cover.
Accidental power-on can damage phone components.
Do not use metal tools to avoid cracking the screen.
Using a new opening tool will help due to tight tolerances; significant force may be required.
Slide the opening tool along the bottom edge of the phone.
Slide the opening tool along the long edge, releasing clips as you go.
Wiggle the frame gently to release the top and right edge clips.
Pause here and test your phone's functionality before proceeding with reassembly.
Press along the long edges of the phone to snap the remaining clips into place.
Use a spudger to pry up and disconnect the battery connector from its socket above the top right corner of the battery pack.
Bend the connector away from the socket to prevent accidental contact with other components, which can cause damage or malfunction.
Misaligned connections can cause pin bending, resulting in permanent damage to the connector or surrounding components.
Use the spudger to gently pry up the interconnect flex cable from the motherboard, taking care not to damage any surrounding components.
Use the point of a spudger to gently pry up and release the interconnect flex cable from the daughterboard, situated beneath the battery.
Disconnect the interconnect flex cable.
Insert the spudger under the antenna interconnect cable and gently pry to release.
Slide a spudger under the loudspeaker vent, twisting gently to release the daughterboard from its plastic clips.
Remove the daughterboard.
If it does not click easily, check for trapped flex cables or antenna cables underneath.
