OnePlus 2 Screen Replacement

Remove the battery prior to screen replacement.

Step 1 | SIM Card

Ensure your phone is powered down.

  • Pry off the external casing with a spudger, your thumbnail, or an opening pick.

Locate the SIM card tray on the back of the phone.

  • Use your thumb to gently slide out the tray.

Remove the SIM card tray.

Step 4 | Battery

  • Remove the rubber screw covers using tweezers.
  • Unscrew the 18 mid frame screws.

Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry up the mid frame from the back of the phone.

  • Pry along the edges, slowly working your way around the phone.
  • Release all clips that hold the frame in place.

  • Use the spudger tool to pry the battery loose from its adhesive.
  • Next, use the spudger to gently pry up the connection between the battery and phone on the top right side.

Step 7 | Charging Port

Use a spudger to gently pry the top edge of the charging port connector.

  • Slide the spudger along the cable, carefully prying it up from its adhesive mounting.
  • Stop at the next connection point on the board.

Use the spudger tool to carefully lift and remove the remaining 4 connections on the charging port.

  • Slowly follow the cable with the spudger tool, lifting it up from the adhesive backing.

Use the spudger on the phone's bottom edge to gently pry the charging part loose.

  • Push the charging part inward until it is free from the frame.
  • Then, use your fingers to completely remove the charging port.

Step 10 | Screen

  • Identify the two lower connections on your phone.
  • Spudger: Carefully pry these connections upwards and towards the top of the phone.

Locate the connector left of the rear-facing camera.

  • If black tape is covering the connector, use tweezers to gently remove it.
  • Using a spudger, carefully pry out the connector and bend it towards the bottom of the phone.

Step 12

Flip the phone over, with the screen facing upwards.

Caution: The iOpener may cause burns if touched.

  • Apply a warm iOpener to the screen and leave on for one minute.

Step 13

Separate the screen from the rest of the phone using a pick.

  • Work your way around all edges, including corners.

Separate the screen from the phone slowly.
