OnePlus 2 Front and Rear Camera Replacement

Step 1 | SIM Card

Power off the phone before proceeding.

  • Remove the external casing using:
    • A Opening Pick
    • Your thumbnail
    • A Spudger

Be careful not to push too hard — risk of damage.

Locate the SIM Card Tray on the back of the device.

  • Position your thumb near the edge of the tray.
  • Gently slide the tray out with a smooth motion.

Ensure you have a SIM card ejector tool before proceeding, as attempting to force it may damage the phone.

  • Pry open the SIM card tray gently using the SIM card ejector tool.
  • Continue prying until the SIM card tray is free from the phone.

The SIM card tray will now be accessible for removal or replacement.

Step 4 | Battery

  • Remove 6 Rubber Screw Covers with your Tweezers.
  • Use the tweezers to prevent damaging the covers.

Next, remove 18 Mid Frame Screws using a suitable driver.

  • Use a Plastic Opening Tool to gently pry up the mid frame.
  • Work slowly, releasing clips along the entire phone perimeter to avoid damage.

  • Remove all retaining clips carefully to free the frame completely.

  • Pry up the battery using a spudger.
  • The battery should break free from its adhesive.
  • Pry the connection to the phone loose with a spudger, top right side.

Step 7 | Front and Rear Camera

Use a spudger to carefully pry the bottom-right camera connections loose — be gentle to avoid damage.

  • Target two separate connections: one for power and one for data.
  • Pry both connections before lifting the wiring assembly.

Use a spudger to carefully pry off the front facing camera connector from its mounting point on the left side.

Hold the camera steady with a pair of tweezers.

  • Guide the camera upwards, using its long, flat base for reference.

Remove the front-facing camera connector using a spudger.

  • Pry off the connection located below the front-facing camera.
  • Use tweezers to carefully remove the camera from its groove.
