OnePlus 2 Battery Replacement

Failing battery may cause charging issues or rapid discharge.

  • A replacement is required to resolve this issue.
    • Dismantle the device according to the user manual's instructions.
    • Battery Compartment must be located and accessed.
    • Remove old battery from its compartment carefully, as it may still hold electrical charge.

    • Install a new Battery in the same position as the old one.

    • Reassemble device and test thoroughly to ensure proper functionality.

Step 1 | SIM Card

Turn the phone completely off, ensuring it is powered down.

  • Pick one of the following tools:
    • Opening Pick
    • (Reference)
    • Spudger
  • Carefully pry off the outer casing.

Be careful not to damage the SIM card tray when pressing in and removing it.

  • SIM card tray: Press in with your thumb on the phone's rear.
  • Gently slide it out.
  • Repeat for the second SIM card slot (if applicable).

Find the SIM card tray.

  • Insert a SIM Ejector Tool into the tray and gently pry it open.
  • Take out the SIM card tray from the device.

Be cautious when handling nearby components during removal.

  • Remove and carefully set aside 6 rubber screw covers, using a pair of tweezers.
  • Completely remove the covers to access the screws.

Follow proper screwdriver techniques to avoid damage when unscrewing.

  • Remove all 18 screws with a screwdriver, applying [Screw type] specifications.
  • Use a torsion wrench for tightening and adhere to recommended torque guidelines.

  • Pry the mid frame from the back using a plastic opening tool.
  • Release the frame clips carefully, starting clockwise.

Pry the battery up using a spudger tool.

  • Release the adhesive grip.
    • Lift the connector with a spudger from the top right edge.
