Replacing the earpiece speaker on Nothing Phone (1) may compromise its IP rating, so proceed with caution.
Apply an iOpener to the rear glass for at least 2 minutes.
Avoid overheating: display and internal battery damage can occur from excessive heat.
Lift the rear glass using the suction handle and create a small gap between back cover and frame.
Be cautious of overheating, as this can cause damage. If necessary, apply more heat to soften adhesive, following iOpener guidelines.
Insert an opening pick into the created gap, sliding it towards the bottom right corner to slice the adhesive.
Leave the opening pick in place to prevent resealing of adhesive.
Insert another Opening Pick at the device's lower edge.
Avoid overexposing adhesive to heat, as this can damage surrounding components.
Insert a third pick at the bottom left corner.
Insert the Y000 tool under the top-left corner and slide it along the top edge to cut the adhesive.
Clean affected areas thoroughly to avoid re-depositing debris.
Install new back cover:
Apply heat to the earpiece speaker using an iOpener for 1-2 minutes to loosen its covering.
Be careful not to overheat or damage the earpiece speaker.
Remove the two Torx T5 screws using a Torx T5 screwdriver.
Insert the flat-end spudger at the bottom edge of the earpiece speaker.
