Nexus 5X Rear Panel Replacement

  • To access internal components, follow these steps.

For the Nexus 5X, begin by removing its rear panel.

Step 1 | SIM Card Tray

Insert the SIM card ejection tool into the hole on the SIM card tray, located on the left edge of the phone.

  • Press in to eject the SIM card tray.
  • Remove the ejected SIM card tray.

Step 2 | Rear Panel

Insert an opening pick into the SIM card tray slot.

  • Twist the pick sideways to disengage the first plastic clip.
  • Slide the pick around the top edge of the phone to release the remaining plastic clips.

Step 3

Slide the opening pick around all sides of the phone, releasing all clips securing the rear panel.

Step 4

Align the opening pick and tilt it slightly to lift the rear panel.

Be cautious of additional plastic clips near the fingerprint sensor.

  • Gently pull the rear panel to release the clips.
  • Continue pulling until the rear panel is completely removed.
