This guide is for replacing the midframe on your Nexus 5X. Follow along carefully to achieve a successful repair.
Press in carefully to avoid damaging the SIM card or tray.
Insert an opening pick into the SIM card tray slot and twist it to dislodge the first plastic clip.
Slide the opening pick around all edges of the phone, working slowly and carefully to release the clips holding the rear panel in place.
Insert the opening pick and tilt it to lift the rear panel slightly.
Remove the entire rear panel carefully, taking note of any remaining clips or connectors.
Remove the 10 3.6 mm Phillips screws securing the midframe.
Insert an opening pick into the SIM card tray slot and twist it sideways.
Slide the opening pick along the top edge of the midframe, releasing the plastic clips.
The midframe is prone to breakage at the long edge plastic clips, so proper disconnection is crucial.
Ensure all clips are released.
