Avoid prying near the SIM card slot and volume controls — risk of breaking the thin plastic.

  • Use a plastic opening tool to release clips on the back cover's top and sides.
  • The bottom is secured with adhesive foam, which can be pried free with an opening pick.

Prying around the snaps at the bottom edge may damage them; instead, release other clips first and swing the back cover outward.

  • Replace the cover by applying gentle but firm pressure to the "S" in "Nexus," then sliding your thumb up towards the top.

Step 2 | Midframe

Remove the six 4.0 mm Phillips #00 screws securing the midframe.

  • Retain all six screws for reassembly.
  • The three small snaps ensure a secure connection between the NFC antenna, wireless charging coil, and motherboard.

Pierce clear adhesive carefully to remove daughterboard cover screws.

  • Remove the four additional 4.0mm Phillips #00 screws on the daughterboard using the same screwdriver.
