  • Use a plastic opening tool to release clips on top, sides, and bottom of back cover.
  • Remove adhesive foam at bottom edge using an opening pick.
  • Avoid prying near SIM card slot or volume controls as plastic is thin and prone to breakage.

Release all clips except the one even with flash window, then swing back cover off.

  • To reattach, apply gentle but firm pressure on "S" in "Nexus", and slide up towards top.
  • Secure this snap to ensure Qi (wireless) charging functionality.

Step 4 | Midframe

Step 4 image
  • Remove the six 4.0 mm Phillips #00 screws that secure the midframe.
  • Retain all six screws for reassembly.

  • The three small snaps on the back cover ensure NFC antenna and wireless charging coil connectors contact securely with the motherboard.
    • To replace the LCD screen and digitizer, remove the four additional 4.0 mm daughterboard cover screws using the same screwdriver.
    • You may need to pierce through clear adhesive material to access these screws.
