Nexus 5 Back Cover Replacement

Use a plastic opening tool to release the clips on the top and sides of the back cover.

  • The bottom edge is secured with adhesive foam; use an opening pick to finally free the back cover.
  • Release all clips except for the hinges at the bottom, then swing the back cover off from the top to avoid damaging fasteners.

Avoid prying around the SIM card slot and volume controls, as the plastic is thin and prone to breaking.

  • To reattach the cover, locate the snap near the flash window and engage it by applying gentle but firm pressure over the "S" in "Nexus," then sliding your thumb up towards the top.
