Nexus 4 Back Cover Replacement

The following steps are for removing the back case of the Nexus 4.

Press and hold the power button for at least 10 seconds until it powers down.

Ensure the phone is completely powered off before proceeding, failure to do so may cause damage.

  • Insert the SIM Card Eject Tool into the SIM tray slot and gently pry open the tray.

This step must be completed in order to access the back case for removal.

Use a T5 Torx Screwdriver to remove the two screws at the bottom of the phone.

Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry open the back case, starting at a corner and circling around the phone.

The opening process may take several minutes, during which you will hear a light snapping noise as the back cover separates from the rest of the phone.
