LG X Style Top Speaker Replacement
Muffled audio or missed calls can be frustrating.
- If your LG X Style's speaker is faulty, replace it with a new one.
- This repair will require basic tools and some technical know-how.
Step 1 | Battery
Power down the device and ensure it is completely turned off.
- Insert the plastic opening tool into the bracket space on the back bottom left of the phone.
- Gently twist the tool clockwise until the back case pops open, creating a small gap.
- Slide the tool along the gap around the entire device.
Step 2
Insert plastic opening tool into indent below battery. Pry up to lift and remove.
Step 3 | Screen
Remove the twelve 3mm screws using a Phillips #000 screwdriver.
Step 4
- Insert a plastic opening tool between the glass screen and plastic edge, applying pressure to create a gap.
- Slide the tool around the entire device, starting from the top.
- Lift off and remove the screen from the device.
Step 5 | Motherboard
- Use a plastic opening tool to pry apart each press fit cable connection.
- Lift each disconnected cable upwards, working on all three ribbon cables in sequence.
Step 6
Insert the iFixit opening tool under the edge of the motherboard.
Lift the motherboard straight up to dislodge it from the screen.
Step 7 | Top Speaker
Remove the front facing speaker with nylon-tip reverse tweezers.
