LG X Style Rear Facing Camera Replacement
Make sure you're working on an LG X Style device, as this repair is model-specific.
- Follow the steps outlined in this guide to replace the faulty rear-facing camera in your device.
Step 1 | Battery
Power down the device and ensure it is completely turned off.
- Insert the plastic opening tool into the bracket space at the back bottom left of the phone.
- Gently twist the tool clockwise to create a small gap in the back case.
- Slide the tool along the gap around the entire device.
Step 2
Insert the plastic opening tool into the indent below the battery.
- Pry gently to lift and remove the battery.
Step 3 | Screen
Remove the twelve 3mm screws using a Phillips #000 screwdriver.
Step 4
Use a plastic opening tool to create space between the glass screen and device's plastic edge by applying firm pressure.
- Slide the prying tool around the entire device, starting from the top.
- Lift off and remove the screen once the gap is established.
Step 5 | Rear Facing Camera
Pinch off the camera connection tab on the motherboard using a plastic opening tool.
Step 6
Use a plastic opening tool to carefully lift up the camera housing and then remove it.
