LG X Style Front Facing Camera Replacement

Identify the front facing camera issue: cracked lens or stopped functioning.
Replace the entire camera assembly for optimal results, not individual components.

This repair requires basic hand tools and no special skills except a steady hand.

Power down the device and ensure it is fully turned off.

Insert the plastic opening tool into the bracket space on the back bottom left of the phone.
Gently twist the tool clockwise until the back case pops open, creating a small gap.
Slide the tool along the gap around the entire device.

Insert plastic opening tool under battery and pry up.

Be careful not to damage surrounding components — risk of electrical shorts.

Remove the 12 x 3mm screws with a Phillips #000 screwdriver.

Apply gentle pressure using a plastic opening tool to create a gap between the glass screen and the plastic edge.

Start at the top, prying the tool around the entire device, sliding it carefully but firmly in one motion.
Lift off the screen once the separation is complete, then remove it from the device.

Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry each ribbon cable from its press-fit connection.

Lift the edge of the tool under the first cable, then lift upwards to disconnect.
Repeat for the second and third ribbon cables.

Insert the iFixit opening tool under the edge of the motherboard and lift up to carefully remove it from the screen.

Remove the front-facing camera with the nylon-tipped reverse tweezers.
