LG Volt Screen Replacement

  • Screen replacement required if the screen is unresponsive or has been damaged from a drop.
  • This guide will show you how to replace the screen on the LG Volt.

Use your finger to pry open the back cover at the crease.

  • Continue prying until you can remove the back casing.

Pry the battery out of its compartment by inserting your finger into the designated removal crease.

Use a JIS #000 screwdriver to remove all 11 4mm screws.

  • Top: Remove three screws.
  • Battery area: Remove one next to the battery, one under the battery, and two above it.
  • Bottom of phone: Remove three screws.

Remove back housing with a plastic opening tool.

Carefully lift the indicated tabs.

  • Carefully unplug the magneted cables.

Handle the motherboard with care to avoid damage.

  • Disconnect all cables and connectors from the motherboard.
  • Lift the motherboard out of its slot or socket.

Use the precision tweezers to carefully lift the copper tab on the right-hand side of the device.

  • Remove the 1 x 4mm screw on the right side using a JIS #000 screwdriver, located underneath the copper tab.
  • Next, remove the 1 x 4mm screw on the bottom left using a JIS #000 screwdriver, situated under the battery tray.

Use precision tweezers to disconnect the white and black cables.

  • Lift the indicated flap, following the illustration provided.

Use the plastic opening tool to lift the charger assembly.

  • Begin at the copper tab and work in a clockwise direction.
  • Once loose, remove the assembly from the phone.

Heat the iOpener in the microwave for exactly 30 seconds.

Apply the iOpener to the right side of the screen with the phone facing upwards for 90 seconds.

If necessary, reheat the iOpener in the microwave for an additional 30 seconds.

Position the iOpener on the left side of the screen with the phone facing upwards for 90 seconds.

Use a small, pointy tipped metal spudger to remove the adhesive when the phone is hot.

  • Pry the screen off using a large, flat tipped metal spudger, applying gentle force.
