LG V50 ThinQ Motherboard Replacement

If troubleshooting steps fail and issues persist, the motherboard may be faulty.

  • Ensure the device is completely powered off to avoid electrical shock.
  • Follow this guide to replace the motherboard.

Step 1 | Motherboard

Flip the phone over with the back facing upwards.

  • Pry open the back cover using a opening pick, applying gentle pressure to move it along all sides of the device.
  • Continue prying until the internal components are fully visible through the newly exposed gap.

Unscrew all 1 mm Phillips #000 screws on the back side.

  • Set aside and store the screws safely for reassembly.

Remove the outer casing to access the internal components.

  • Locate and take out the two brackets.

  • Disconnect the battery connector from its port above the battery.
  • Remove the screen connection from its left-side back port.
  • Pull up on the dark orange cable with tweezers to release it.

Disconnect the orange cable by gently pulling the connector piece upwards with your fingers.

  • Pull up on the white wire's end using tweezers to disconnect it from the motherboard.
  • Using a metal spudger, carefully pry the motherboard out of the phone, starting at the top and near the battery.
