Step 1 | Back Cover
Apply heat to the adhesive using an iOpener or hairdryer, moving it in a rolling motion across the phone's back.
Be cautious not to overheat the device.
- Continue applying heat until the back cover can be easily lifted with an Opening pick.
Step 2
Take care when prying open the back cover to avoid cracking the glass.
- Pry the back cover away from its adhesive using a plastic tool.
- Maintain a steady pace to prevent glass damage.
Step 3
Careful: risk of damage to either component.
- Disconnect the fingerprint sensor from the back camera lens cover.
Step 4
Remove the back camera lens cover and fingerprint sensor using the opening picks.
- Set them aside with the fingerprint sensor kept separate for later use in a new back cover installation.
Step 5
Soften the adhesive using the iOpener.
- Gently rub the softened adhesive with a cloth or cotton swab soaked in isopropyl alcohol.
Step 6
Reapply adhesive to areas where original adhesive had been.
