LG V30 Plus Front-Facing Camera Replacement
Your phone's camera may not be working due to a faulty front-facing camera. Replace it using this guide.
- Inspect the phone for any damage or debris on the camera lens.
- Use a soft cloth to gently clean the lens and surrounding area.
Avoid touching the camera's electrical components — risk of damage or electric shock.
- Remove the screws holding the front panel in place using a Phillips head screwdriver.
- Carefully pry the front panel away from the phone's casing.
Be gentle when handling the camera module to avoid damaging its delicate components.
- Disconnect the camera connector carefully to prevent damage.
- Remove the old camera and install the new one in its place.
Make sure all connections are secure before reassembling the phone.
Step 1 | Rear Glass
Heat two iOpeners in a microwave and place them on the phone's edges.
- Allow 1-2 minutes for the adhesive to heat up.
- If needed, use a heat gun to aid in separating the backing.
Step 2
Insert a Opening Tool between the rear glass and side of the phone.
- Pry the glass slightly to make room for an Opening Pick.
- Guide the Opening Tool around the edges, placing additional Opening Picks as needed.
Step 3
Use a Suction Handle to carefully remove the rear glass.
- Ensure all edges of the device are fully lifted before proceeding.
- Gently pull the rear glass away from the device using the Suction Handle.
Step 4 | Motherboard
- Use a Phillips #00 Screwdriver to remove ten 4mm screws.
Step 5
Use a Spudger to push down on the small black tab and release the protective board.
- Insert an Opening Tool between the phone and the protective board, then slide it along the edges to unclip it.
- Pull gently while wiggling the board back and forth to release the last attachment point.
Step 6
Insert the Opening Tool between the lower protective board and the phone.
- Slide the tool along the edge until it unclips.
- Continue sliding the tool around the edges until the board pops off.
Step 7
Use a plastic spudger to gently pry each visible ribbon cable away from the motherboard.
Step 8
Remove the motherboard carefully, handling it by its edges to avoid damaging components.
Step 9 | Battery
Locate the battery and use a Spudger to pry each edge away from the board.
- Be cautious of strong adhesive and work carefully around the edges.
- If necessary, insert Opening Picks to keep the battery elevated.
Step 10 | Front-Facing Camera
Use a spudger to gently pry the front-facing camera module away from the logic board.
