LG V30 Plus Battery Replacement
Battery fault suspected: check for strong adhesive before removal.
- Remove the battery using caution due to strong adhesive.
- Refer to this guide for further instructions on replacing the battery in your device.
Step 1 | Rear Glass
Heat two iOpeners in a microwave and apply them to the edges of the phone.
Allow the adhesive to heat up for 1-2 minutes before proceeding.
- If the backing does not separate easily, use a heat gun to assist with removal.
Step 2
- Insert an Opening Tool into the seam between the rear glass and side of the phone.
- Pry off the glass just enough to insert an Opening Pick.
- Slide the Opening Tool around the edges, placing multiple Opening Picks as needed.
Step 3
Use a Suction Handle to carefully remove the rear glass from the device.
Step 4 | Motherboard
Use a Phillips #00 Screwdriver to remove the ten 4mm screws.
Step 5
Wiggle the protective board carefully to avoid damaging internal components.
- Use a Spudger to push down on the small black tab, releasing the protective board.
- Slide an Opening Tool between the phone and the protective board, then along the edges of the phone to unclip it.
- Gently pull while wiggling the board back and forth at the last attachment point.
Step 6
Insert a Opening Tool between the lower protective board and the phone.
- Work the tool around all four edges, gently prying the board loose.
Step 7
Carefully pull each visible ribbon cable away from the motherboard.
Step 8
Remove the motherboard from the phone, taking care to handle it gently.
Step 9 | Battery
Use a spudger to gently pry each edge of the battery away from the board.
Be cautious of strong adhesive under the battery; work carefully around its edges and use opening picks if needed to keep it elevated.
