Step 12 | Motherboard Assembly

Step 12 image

Use the flat end of a spudger to disconnect the flex cable of the left rear camera.

The second rear camera may get damaged during motherboard removal as it is connected on the other side, so handle with care.

  • You can leave the front facing camera in place, but use caution when removing the motherboard assembly.
  • If unsure, carefully remove the front facing camera with a pair of tweezers.

If broken glass obstructs suction cup placement, use a strong piece of tape as a handle to carefully lift the display.

  • Use a suction cup to lift the upper display end until you can insert the opening pick tip.
  • Only insert the pick tip; avoid damaging components beneath the display.
  • Slide the opening pick around all sides to cut the adhesive.

Leave an opening pick in each corner to prevent resealing of the adhesive.

Avoid lifting the display immediately after cutting the adhesive, as it may damage the mid frame cables.
