LG V10 Motherboard Replacement

Power off the LG V10 completely before attempting repairs.

  • Verify the phone is not charging by trying with a known functional charger.
  • If the device does not turn on or enters an infinite boot loop, proceed to motherboard replacement.

Step 1 | Battery

Insert the flat end of a plastic spudger between the back cover and the charging port.

  • For the spudger, position it between the metal lining of the charging port and the back cover.
  • Lift up gently on the spudger or with your finger to release the back cover.
  • The rest of the back cover should easily slide off by inserting a finger or the spudger under its edge and working around the sides.

Pry the battery out by inserting your finger into the impression next to it, or use the flat end of a spudger.

Step 3 | Motherboard

  • Remove the fourteen 3.175 mm screws using a screwdriver with a J000 Phillips bit.
  • Pry the back panel up starting from the sides of the battery slot using a plastic opening tool.
  • Careful not to damage surrounding components, use plastic tweezers to release any remaining clips holding the panel in place.

  • Pry the panel up around the sides and set it aside next to the fingerprint sensor and camera lens.

Disconnect the connectors carefully with a plastic spudger, using its flat end to wedge them away from the motherboard.

  • Pry the motherboard out from the plastic holder using plastic tweezers.
