LG V10 Dual Front Cameras Replacement

Power off the LG V10 before starting repair work.

  • Turn off the phone completely by pressing and holding the Power button.
  • Check the front camera functionality: if it's malfunctioning, causing a black screen in bright environments while taking selfies, proceed with replacing it.

Step 1 | Battery

Insert the flat end of the plastic spudger, or your index finger, between the back cover and charging port.

Ensure the spudger is not in the charging port itself, but rather between the metal lining and back cover.

  • Lift the back cover upwards using the spudger or finger to release it.
  • Once released, gently pry the rest of the back cover off by inserting a finger or spudger along the edges.

Use the flat end of the spudger or your finger to pry the battery out.

  • Pry the battery in the direction indicated by the impression next to the battery.

  • Remove fourteen 3.175 mm screws using a screwdriver with J000 Phillips bit.
  • Pry part of the panel up from the sides of the battery slot using a plastic opening tool.
  • Release remaining panel clips with plastic tweezers and pry the panel up around the fingerprint sensor and camera lens.

  • Insert the flat end of a plastic spudger or opening tool under the front camera's motherboard connector.
  • Pry the connector loose to disconnect the front cameras' motherboard connection.
