LG Ultimate 2 Digitizer Replacement

Be cautious when handling the digitizer replacement process, as improper removal may damage the connected data cable.

  • Plastic spudger to loosen screen attachment.
  • Use your hands to carefully pull the screen off.
  • Screwdriver to unscrew the screen from the phone.

Step 1 | Battery

Insert the plastic opening tool into the gap between the plastic backing and the phone's main body.

Hold the phone firmly and gently pull the plastic cover away from the device.

  • Insert the plastic opening tool into the wedge near the bottom of the battery.
  • Lift the battery out carefully, taking care not to touch any internal components.

Remove the 11 mid-frame screws with a Phillips #0 screwdriver.

  • Insert a plastic opening tool to begin prying the phone open.
  • Work your way around the phone's edge using the plastic opening tool, separating sections as you move along.

Insert a plastic opening tool between the zip connector and the phone.

Note: The zip connector will not detach completely from the phone, but acts as a flap that can be moved out of the way.

Step 7

Insert the plastic opening tool between the screen and base.

Be prepared for difficulty due to strong adhesive.

Apply sufficient leverage to force an opening.

Step 8

Continuously move the plastic opening tool along the edge of the screen.

  • Separate the pieces from the adhesive using a gentle prying motion.
  • A hair dryer can be used to help melt the adhesive, but use with caution and follow proper safety guidelines.

Step 9

Use a spudger to carefully pry the screen away from its adhesive.
