LG Tribute Touchscreen Replacement
This guide helps replace the LG Tribute touchscreen.
Step 1 | Battery
Insert the plastic opening tool and gently pry off the back cover.
Step 2
Ensure correct polarity when installing new battery.
- Lift the battery out of its compartment.
- Align the (+) terminal on the new battery with the corresponding charging node.
- Secure the new battery in place and verify it is seated properly.
Step 3 | Mid-panel
Remove the eight 4mm screws with a Phillips head 000 screwdriver (PH000).
Step 4
Excessive force can damage the tabs and render reassembly impossible.
- Use a plastic opening tool to carefully loosen the tabs around the phone's edge.
- A thin piece of plastic inserted into the gaps will prevent the tabs from locking back in place.
Proceed with patience, as this step can be challenging.
Do not use excessive force to pry open the panel; risk of damage or tab breakage.
Step 5 | Motherboard
Disconnect the touchscreen from the motherboard using a plastic opening tool.
- The motherboard will now be completely free from the front panel.
Step 6 | Touchscreen
Use a thin plastic spudger to gently pry the frame away from the touchscreen glass.
- Continue prying until the frame is completely free.
Be careful not to dislodge the speaker grill or LED light spacer
while removing the adhesive.
