LG Tribute HD Display Replacement
When handling a cracked screen, take care to avoid cuts from broken glass.
- This repair is necessary for an unresponsive screen or one that has been damaged or cracked.
Step 1 | Battery and SD Card
Use a fingernail or plastic opening tool to carefully pry the back cover open.
Step 2
- Pull the battery out of the phone.
- Locate the correct direction, then slide the SD Card out.
Step 3 | Flex Cable
Remove all 12 x 2mm JIS #00 screws from the mid-frame.
Step 4
Remove the antenna extender at the bottom using a plastic opening tool.
Step 5
Use your fingers to lift out the mid-frame.
Step 6
Disconnect the front camera from the motherboard using a plastic opening tool.
- Repeat this process for the rear camera.
- Once both cameras are disconnected, carefully remove them from the phone.
Step 7
Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry up the front facing speaker, then lift it out of the phone.
Step 8
Use a plastic opening tool to disconnect the LCD from the motherboard.
Step 9
Use a plastic opening tool to gently pry up the motherboard from the display housing.
- Continue prying until the motherboard is loose and can be removed.
- Carefully lift the motherboard out of the phone's casing.
Step 10
Using your fingers, carefully pry the flex cables loose from their connectors on the phone.
