LG Tribute 5 Speaker Replacement

Front speaker issues may be resolved by replacement.

  • The following guide details the process for swapping out your LG Tribute 5's front speaker.
  • A distorted or non-functioning front speaker can be caused by a faulty front speaker. Replacement is recommended in these cases.

Step 1 | Battery

Use an iFixit opening tool to pry the back cover away from the device by pulling it outward from the bottom left corner.

  • Be gentle, as the cutout is a weak point in the phone's casing.
  • Continue to pull the tool outward until the back cover comes loose and can be removed.

  • Lift the battery gently from its compartment.
  • Use an iFixit opening tool to remove the SD card and nano sim card, as shown in the diagram.

Step 3 | Front Speaker

Remove the nine 2mm JIS #00 screws securing the mid-frame.

  • Remove the antenna extender using a iFixit opening tool

Excessive force may cause damage to the device.

  • Use an iFixit opening tool to remove the mid-frame.
  • Avoid applying excessive pressure when separating the mid frame.

Step 6

Use an iFixit opening tool to gently lift the front speaker from its compartment at the top edge of the motherboard.
