LG Tribute 5 Motherboard Replacement
The motherboard is a critical component in your LG Tribute 5 (model LS675) controlling all functions. If battery replacement fails to resolve issues, it may be necessary to replace the motherboard.
Step 1 | Battery
Use an iFixit opening tool to pry the back cover loose from the phone's body.
- Gently pull the cutout in the bottom left corner of the phone outward.
Step 2
Remove the battery by gently lifting it from its compartment.
- Use a iFixit opening tool to remove the SD card and nano SIM card as shown in the illustration.
Step 3 | Motherboard
Remove the nine 2mm JIS #00 screws from the mid-frame.
Step 4
Remove the antenna extender at the bottom using an iFixit opening tool.
Step 5
Apply minimal force when removing the mid-frame to avoid bending or damaging the device.
- Use an iFixit opening tool as shown to gently pry up the mid-frame.
Step 6
Disconnect the rear camera using an iFixit opening tool, located at the top center of the motherboard.
- Next, remove the front facing camera from the top right corner of the motherboard.
Step 7
Use the iFixit opening tool to carefully remove the speaker from its compartment.
Step 8
Use the iFixit opening tool to disconnect the flex cable from the motherboard.
Step 9
Remove the motherboard with the iFixit opening tool.
