LG Tribute 5 Display Replacement
Use caution when handling a cracked display to prevent cuts.
- This guide replaces the display and touch screen on the LG Tribute 5.
- It can resolve issues like an unresponsive touch screen, damaged or non-functioning display, or a cracked glass display.
Step 1 | Battery
Remove the back cover by gently prying the cutout on the bottom left corner with a iFixit opening tool.
- Pry carefully in an outward motion.
Step 2
Remove the battery by gently lifting it from its compartment.
- Utilize an iFixit opening tool to remove the SD card and nano SIM card as demonstrated.
Step 3 | Display
Remove the nine 2mm JIS #00 screws from the mid-frame.
Step 4
Remove the antenna extender from the bottom using an iFixit opening tool.
Step 5
Apply gentle force only to avoid bending or damaging the device.
- Remove the mid-frame using an iFixit opening tool.
- Avoid applying too much force when separating the mid frame.
Step 6
Use an iFixit opening tool to disconnect the flex cable from the motherboard.
Step 7
Separate the motherboard from the display using an iFixit opening tool.
