LG Thrill 4G Phone Buttons Replacement

Your LG Thrill 4G phone's button pad may stop registering after extended use.

  • To avoid replacing the entire phone, follow this guide to replace the individual buttons.
  • You will need a iFixit opening tool and a Phillips #00 screwdriver.

Step 1 | Back Cover Removal

Use a fingernail or a plastic opening tool to pry open the back cover.

Be careful not to break the notch at the bottom of the cover.

The small notch provides leverage for easy removal.

Step 2 | Battery Removal

Locate and slide out the battery from its slot.

Note the small ledge at the bottom of the battery for smooth extraction.

Step 3 | Screw Removal

Identify and remove the three Philips #00 screws located at the bottom of the device.

  • Remove two screws with a diameter of 5.5 mm.
  • Remove one screw with a diameter of 4 mm.

Step 4 | Speaker Removal

Start by inserting your finger or an opening tool into the small notch at the bottom of the phone.

Be careful not to damage any internal components.

  • Apply gentle pressure to wedge the speaker out from this point.

Step 5 | Buttons

  • Remove the power button from the side.
  • Remove the volume button from the side.
  • Remove the 3D camera button from the top.

Insert a plastic opening tool into the bottom corner of the HDMI cover.

This will loosen both the HDMI cover and USB cover for easy removal.

  • The covers should now come off easily.

Remove the six Phillips #00 screws within the mid-cover bezel.
