LG Stylo 2 Charger Port Replacement

When working with a soldering iron, exercise caution and preparation is necessary to avoid injury or damage.

Soldering Iron is required for this procedure. For guidance on soldering and desoldering connections, refer to the relevant guide.
This guide will cover replacing the charge port, but the steps can also be applied to replace the entire daughterboard.

Step 1 | Battery

Remove the back case by placing the phone face down.
Insert a plastic opening tool into the initial gap, then guide it around the case.

Be careful not to force the tool, as this can cause damage.

Step 2

Set the back case aside.

Use a finger or opening tool to detach the battery.

Remove the battery slowly and carefully to prevent damage to the phone or battery.

Step 3 | Rear Camera

Remove eleven 4mm Phillips #00 screws.

Set screws aside in a safe place.
Use the plastic opener tool to remove the inner case.
Gently lift out the inner case.

Step 4

Flip the flex cable up by pressing it with a finger or an opener.

Hold the precision tweezers and carefully lift out the camera.

Step 5 | Motherboard

Use the opener tool to gently flip the highlighted cables.

Gently lift out the motherboard.
Place the motherboard on a soft surface.

Step 6 | Charger Port

Place the motherboard on a stable surface away from any heat sources.

Desolder all four connections using a soldering iron.

Continue soldering until the port can be removed.
Carefully lift out the port and set it aside on a safe surface.
