LG Stylo 2 Plus Speaker Replacement

The speaker unit may need replacing if the phone sounds muffled or fails to produce sound.

  • Replace the speaker unit, a relatively simple task.
  • Be gentle when handling the device, as the back is made of fragile plastic.

Step 1 | Rear Case

  • Insert a spudger into the opening at the back of the case.
  • Slide the spudger parallel to the frame, along the edge of the phone, to force the casing to release.

Step 2 | Battery

Insert the spudger or fingernail into the dimple at the battery's bottom.

  • Lift upwards to dislodge the battery.
  • Firmly grasp the battery and remove it from the phone.

Step 3 | Speaker

Remove the phone's cover.

  • Use a JIS #000 screwdriver to remove the four 4mm screws around the base of the mid-frame.

Insert metal spudger into dimple at base of mid-frame.

  • Pry upward, separating bottom section of mid-frame from phone.

Flip the bottom piece of the mid-frame over to expose the speaker.

  • Peel back the rubber covering the speaker using a pair of tweezers.
  • Grasp the speaker unit with the tweezers and remove it from the mid-frame.
