LG Stylo 2 Plus Front Camera Replacement

Damaged front facing camera may require replacement.

  • Front facing camera failure can prevent photograph capture.
  • This repair is intermediate-level and involves handling small, delicate parts (e.g. ribbon cable).

Step 1 | Rear Case

Insert a spudger into the rear case opening.

  • Slide the spudger along the edge, parallel to the frame, applying gentle pressure.
  • The casing will pop off when sufficient force is applied.

Step 2 | Battery

  • Insert a fingernail or the flat end of a spudger into the dimple at the bottom of the battery.
  • Lift upwards gently to dislodge the battery.
  • Firmly grasp the battery and remove it from the phone.

Step 3 | Mid-Frame

Remove the eleven 4mm screws using a JIS #000 screwdriver

Insert the metal spudger into the dimple at the base of the cover.

  • Pry upward gently to remove the mid-frame.

Step 5 | Front Camera

Remove the ribbon cable from the camera and motherboard using a pair of tweezers.

  • Pull the camera away from the phone using the same tweezers.
