LG Spectrum Motherboard Replacement

If you experience frequent errors, crashes, or a blue screen of death, it may be time to replace your motherboard.

  • This guide will walk you through the process of replacing the Motherboard.

Step 1 | Battery

Use the thumbnail to lift up on the notch located in the middle of the phone's bottom side.

Use a plastic spudger or your thumbnail to pry up the battery at the notch in the bottom left corner.

  • Lift upwards gently to release the battery.
  • Remove the battery from the phone completely.

Step 3 | Sim/SD Port

Remove 11 4mm Phillips #000 screws using a PH000 screwdriver.

To avoid losing screws, use the magnetic mat to keep them in one place.

Insert the plastic opening tool into the gap and gently pry up the plastic backing along the edges.

Use a plastic opening tool to detach the black rectangular film from the SIM/SD card plate.

Position the plastic opening tool under the plate.

  • Lift the plate up with a gentle motion.

Step 7

Wiggle the plate side-to-side and pull up to release it.

  • Apply gentle pressure when releasing the plate.

Step 8 | Motherboard

Lift the camera connector off the board using a plastic opening tool.

Use your fingers to carefully remove the camera from its socket on the motherboard.

Use a plastic opening tool to carefully lift the audio port connector.

Step 11

Remove the audio port from the motherboard by hand or using a plastic opening tool.

  • Use a plastic opening tool to detach the two cable connector wires from the motherboard.
  • Detach the remaining five connectors from the phone using the same plastic opening tool.

Insert the plastic opening tool under the motherboard and gently pry it upwards.

  • Lift the motherboard away from the phone casing.
