LG Spectrum Motherboard Replacement
If you experience frequent errors, crashes, or a blue screen of death, it may be time to replace your motherboard.
- This guide will walk you through the process of replacing the Motherboard.
- Proceed with caution: replacing the motherboard requires technical expertise and proper tools.
Step 1 | Battery
Use the thumbnail to lift up on the notch located in the middle of the phone's bottom side.
Step 2
Use a plastic spudger or your thumbnail to pry up the battery at the notch in the bottom left corner.
- Lift upwards gently to release the battery.
- Remove the battery from the phone completely.
Step 3 | Sim/SD Port
Remove 11 4mm Phillips #000 screws using a PH000 screwdriver.
To avoid losing screws, use the magnetic mat to keep them in one place.
Step 4
Insert the plastic opening tool into the gap and gently pry up the plastic backing along the edges.
Step 5
Use a plastic opening tool to detach the black rectangular film from the SIM/SD card plate.
Step 6
Position the plastic opening tool under the plate.
- Lift the plate up with a gentle motion.
Step 7
Wiggle the plate side-to-side and pull up to release it.
- Apply gentle pressure when releasing the plate.
Step 8 | Motherboard
Lift the camera connector off the board using a plastic opening tool.
Step 9
Use your fingers to carefully remove the camera from its socket on the motherboard.
Step 10
Use a plastic opening tool to carefully lift the audio port connector.
Step 11
Remove the audio port from the motherboard by hand or using a plastic opening tool.
Step 12
- Use a plastic opening tool to detach the two cable connector wires from the motherboard.
- Detach the remaining five connectors from the phone using the same plastic opening tool.
Step 13
Insert the plastic opening tool under the motherboard and gently pry it upwards.
- Lift the motherboard away from the phone casing.
