LG Risio Screen Replacement

Step 1 | Back Panel

Separate the back panel from the device using a plastic opening tool.

  • Remove the back panel once it is loose.

Position your thumb at the lower edge of the battery and gently lift upward.

Be careful not to press on any surrounding components.

Press down on the SIM eject tab with a fingernail or an iFixit opening tool, and gently slide the SIM card out.

Remove the eight Phillips #0 screws from the internal support frame.

Insert an opening tool into the marked locations and gently lift the edges.

Listen for a distinct click as you lift, indicating proper alignment.

Hold the midframe in your hand and gently pry it away from the phone.

Unclip the front camera connector from the motherboard.

  • Locate the screen connector with P5 marked on it.
  • Position your thumb under the screen connector and gently lift up to detach it from the motherboard.

Step 9

Locate the side with the screen connector.

  • Pull the two tabs away from the device.
  • Use a plastic opening tool to lift the motherboard, starting on the bottom right corner and pulling upwards.

  • Apply gentle heat to the screen assembly with a hot air gun or hair dryer.
  • Pry the screen away from its frame using your fingers or an iFixit prying tool.
