LG Risio Motherboard Replacement
Troubleshooting multiple issues at once can be time-consuming and frustrating — consider replacing the motherboard if experiencing problems like a blue screen, non-functional screen, or faulty headphone jack.
Step 1 | Back Panel
- Use a plastic opening tool to pry the back panel away.
- Once separated, remove the back panel.
Step 2 | Battery
Locate the battery and position your thumb at its bottom edge.
Pry upwards gently with your thumb to dislodge the battery.
Step 3 | Midframe
Press the SIM eject tab gently using a fingernail or iFixit tool.
- Slide the SIM card out of its slot.
Step 4
Remove the eight Phillips #0 screws from the internal support frame.
Step 5
Insert an opening tool into the marked locations and gently pry the edges upwards.
- A slight click indicates that the edge is securely lifted.
Step 6
Grasp the midframe with one hand.
- Lift it away from the phone.
Step 7 | Motherboard
Locate the screen connector, identified by the label P5.
Be careful not to touch any internal components.
- Insert your thumb underneath the screen connector
- Lift up, detaching it from the motherboard.
Step 8
Locate the screen connector side of the device.
- Pull the two tabs away from the device.
Insert the plastic opening tool into the motherboard at the bottom right corner and gently pry it upwards.
