LG Rebel Rear Camera Replacement
Be cautious when handling the rear camera, as it may be sharp if damaged.
- Inspect the rear camera for foggy or cracked damage.
- Replace the broken or damaged rear camera.
Step 1 | Rear Camera
Position the phone on its side.
- Locate the small groove.
- Insert a plastic opening tool into the groove and pry off the back cover.
Step 2
Locate the small groove at the bottom of the phone's back.
- Use a metal spudger to pry open the black plastic covering.
- Remove the black plastic covering.
Step 3
Use a metal spudger to gently pry up the black plastic covering located near the top of the phone.
- Continue to pry and remove the black plastic covering.
Step 4
- Identify and locate the connective pieces on the back of the phone.
- Disconnect the connective pieces using a metal spudger.
Step 5
Flip the phone over with the screen facing up.
- Plastic spudger: Slide it around the phone's perimeter to break the entire seal.
- Remove the screen using a small suction cup.
Step 6
Locate the black bumper at the bottom of the front of the phone.
- Use a metal spudger to carefully slide the bumper out.
Step 7
- Loosen the motherboard with a metal spudger.
- Slowly remove the motherboard from the phone's body.
The motherboard is still connected to the body — risk of damage if not removed carefully.
Step 8
Locate the rear camera on the motherboard.
- Disconnect the connective piece at the base of the camera using a metal spudger.
- Remove the camera.
