LG Phoenix 2 Power and volume buttons Replacement

If the power and volume buttons on your LG Phoenix 2 are unresponsive or stuck, proceed with this repair.

Step 1 | Battery

Insert a fingernail into the notch at the bottom edge.

  • Pull upwards with one hand while keeping the phone stable.
  • Run your fingernail along the edge of the back cover.

Locate the notch on the battery at the bottom edge.

  • Insert your fingernail into the notch and gently pry the battery loose.
  • Pull the battery out of its compartment.

  • Identify the SIM card located in the top right corner of the phone's back panel.
  • Push the SIM card towards the left using your thumb.

Remove the back panel by first loosening the nine Phillips head #J00 screws with a Phillips head #J00 screwdriver.

  • Rotate each screw counterclockwise to loosen.

Be careful not to damage the phone's casing.

  • Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap at the bottom of the phone, between the bottom shield and the rest of the device.
  • Pry the bottom shield to break its bond with the phone.
  • The shield should come loose enough to be removed by hand once pried free.

  • Insert the flat end of the Spudger between the screen and the chromed frame.
  • Run the Spudger along the frame to separate the front part from the back shield.

  • Insert a metallic Spudger under the buttons.
  • Gently pull upwards on the Spudger to release the buttons from both sides of the back shield.
  • Once the orange part is loose, proceed to the next step.

Insert a plastic opening tool under the buttons frame and lift it off.

Insert a metallic Spudger under the button and gently pull upwards.

  • The buttons will detach from the shield using this method.
  • Once detached, pass the orange cables through the hole on the backside.
