LG Optimus V Antenna Replacement

This repair may cause permanent damage if not done correctly.

Power off your LG Optimus V and disconnect it from any charger.
Replace the antenna to resolve connectivity issues.
In Step 4, take extra care as incorrect handling may damage your device.
Desolder the old antenna and solder a new one into place on the circuit board in Step 5.

Step 1 | Battery

Flip the phone over with the rear casing upwards.

Step 2

Locate the opening above the camera.

Use a spudger to detach the back cover.

Step 3

Remove the battery gently with your spudger.

Step 4 | Camera

Remove the six screws from the silver casing.

Use a plastic opening tool to pry off the silver casing.

Step 5

Remove each area holding the parts together with a plastic opening tool.

Step 6

Remove the Y3114C module using a plastic opening tool.

Pry off the camera assembly using a plastic opening tool.

Step 7 | Antenna

Desolder the antenna connections on the motherboard using a soldering iron.

Step 8

Remove the old antenna by desoldering it.

Solder a new antenna into place.
