LG Optimus T Motherboard Replacement

If your LG Optimus T is unresponsive and refuses to charge, a faulty motherboard might be the culprit, so replacing it could resolve the issue.

Working on a live device may result in electric shock.

  • Shut down and unplug your device before proceeding.
  • Use a plastic opening tool to remove the phone's back cover.
  • Pry the cover off by inserting the tool into the indentation at the top of the phone.

Locate the battery's release mechanism, indicated by a slight indentation to the left of the camera lens.

Pull up firmly on the battery to dislodge it from its seat.

Remove the six 4.5mm screws with a J0 screwdriver.

Prying the interior case can be challenging; use a metal spudger with care if the plastic tool fails.

  • Insert the metal spudger into indentations at top or bottom of phone to pry off interior case.
  • Remove interior case once separated.

Release the connector by pulling the tab upwards.

Remove SD card mount.

  • Insert a plastic opening tool into the slot on the right side and pry off.

  • Remove the metal panel.
  • Pry open the panel using a plastic opening tool at each of the four retaining points.

Step 8

Disconnect the motherboard from the charging port.

  • Use a J0 screwdriver to remove two 1.8mm screws securing the charging port.
  • Lift the motherboard out of its slot.
