Working on a powered-on device poses a risk of electric shock — ensure it is turned off and unplugged.
Locate the battery and identify the indentation near the camera lens.
Remove the six 4.5 mm screws with a J0 screwdriver.
Be careful not to damage the phone with a metal spudger.
Careful note: An indentation near the volume button's insertion point will serve as a guide for reassembly.
Pull upwards on the connector tab.
Remove SD card mount.
Locate the four retaining clips. Use a plastic opening tool to pry each one loose.
Disconnect the motherboard as it is still connected to the charging port.
Remove the home buttons by popping them off.
