LG Optimus L9 P769 Micro-USB Port Replacement

This repair is for advanced users only — risk of damage if not done correctly.

  • Disassemble the phone, removing the battery and SIM card to access the motherboard.
  • Locate the Micro-USB Port on the main board and carefully disconnect it from the circuitry.

Switch off the device completely.

  • Lift the battery cover carefully with both hands.

Lift the battery from its notched position in the battery compartment.

Remove all 10 4.5mm screws holding the back frame to the case using a PH000 screwdriver.

Careful not to damage the back frame — excessive force can cause harm.

  • Use a small prying tool to remove the back frame.
  • Pry on the sides of the device for optimal removal.

  • Use tweezers to pull up and disconnect both antenna connections.

Unscrew the two 2.9mm screws using a PH000 screwdriver.

  • The screws are located at the Micro-USB Cache.

Step 7

Use a prying tool to detach the module from the motherboard.

  • Identify the module's retaining clips and release them carefully.
  • Apply even pressure with the prying tool, working your way around the module's edges.
  • The module should now be free from the motherboard.

Remove the 1.8mm screw with a PH000 driver.

  • The Micro-USB module will be freed for removal.

Detach Micro-USB circuitry from phone case using a small prying tool.

Step 10

Compare the Micro-USB module to the empty phone casing.

  • Ensure the board and casing are aligned properly.
  • Carefully insert the Micro-USB module into the casing.
  • Verify that all pins match up correctly.
